Every year KFRI admits a limited number of students for their M. Sc. project work, as a part of the Academic Attachment programme.  The programme is conducted from December to February.  A good number of applications are received from various colleges in Kerala and Tamil Nadu and the selection of the students is done based on the marks obtained in their Degree and also from their academic achievements.  In the year 2007-2008 seven students are undergoing the programme.
