The Field Research Centre (FRC) situated at Velupadam, Thrissur (36 km from Peechi) has a laboratory and facilities for conducting nursery and field trials. It has one of India’s largest bamboo collections in a bambusetum and a bamboo and cane nursery. An arboretum of rare and endangered trees are also maintained in the centre.

Planting stocks of various bamboo species raised through vegetative method and seedlings of thorny and non thorny bamboo species are readily available in the Field Research Centre, Velupadam.

The cost of poly bagged seedlings range from Rs 10 to Rs 100.
